That's a shot to be proud of IMO and good editing job, mind sharing how it was done ?
The bird on the right, his left lower wing feather is blurry, is that a result of the edit? Still love the shot though

Like the effect and color but the cropping of the tails is a minus.

the lower left feather wasn't there...I think some of the parrots feathers where removed in someway . So i give it a feather...Editing : neat noise, some painting with soft light and gaussian blurr for softening the efect of the paint...and a lot of cloning.

The editing is very good but the shot just seems incomplete. If this is all you could get then thats all you can get. If you have the room though, step back, turn vertical and frame the subject off to the side. A portrait shot does not lock you into a perfectly centered subject. In my opinion a long subject like this, where the background and surroundings are of little interst, looks better in a portrait shot rather than landscape or square.

One of my biggest problems is I always try to get in tight and if the shot does not work you are left with little or no room for cropping to fix it. I try to shoot a little wider and that leaves me much more to work with.

you know.. normally i am not a fan of cropping off body parts.. but hear me out here.. i kind of like the colors in this one.. i think too much color and you ruin the mood or feel to this one.. so i am not bothered as much by the absence of the tail.. "in this shot, the way its processed and presented"... if you are just doing a standard colorful parrot portrait, then i agree, you need the tail.. but for this, i think the greys work well together with just that tiny splash of red..

i think this works very well, i don't think you need the rest of the tail...the focus here is on the interaction of the parrots, how they are situated and the color. nice job!
