Hello,

This image was stitiched from 14 images made with a 4 mp Powershot. The resulting .jpg was over 20 mb. I reduced it to 2 mb before I cropped it. The drastically reduced and compressed attached image still shows great detail.

I will post the uncropped version in a reply.

I am posting this for criticism but also to share that this absolutely free stitching program is available is available from the University of British Columbia. I downloaded the program and this was the result of my first attempt to use it.

Here is the url for anyone who is interested. http://www.cs.ubc.ca/~mbrown/autostitch/autostich.html

I have absolutely no connection with this program except that I tried it.

I like the composition, however the exposure of the 14 pictures you took must have been different, was it on auto? I say this because there are dark and light areas on the image in places that shouldn't be that way.Nicefirstjob with a pano though.

I think you did a very good job. I don't see any drastic exposure differences. I think the most noticeable would be the far left or that may be glare.

nelmr (for lack of a better name)

Thanks and you're right. I didn't expect much of the sticher so I didn't put much effort into the shots. I was so surprised at the detail in the full size panarama, that I kept it.

I am not qualified to offer criticism of images in this forum but I see from your Clingman's Dome panarama, that you know whereof you speak.

Hmmm, Not that I did not love the picture. I was so carried away by the art of stitching and marvelling how it was done that I asked the question and forgot to say my appreciation. Yes, some sheep or cow would have completed the it perfection.
