i usually don't like waterscapes in grey scale, but the uncooperative weather

has made shots few and far between.

i have been playing around with a few different mediums, and this b&w watershot

is one of my projects.

does it work?

its a little too centered i think... and i am not keen on hte glow coming from behind the trees.. and its really just a lot of midtone grey.. i think that the project is worth continuing as it will look very nice when you get it right, this just isnt quite it..

Hi,

I myself don't think this is too far away and I do quite like the glow (maybe slightly overdone but not by much). The only thing that I don't like is the area of trees across the middle of the shot on the right - to me it looks like they were pasted on - it does spoil it for me - very flat "battleship grey". Maybe try and add some grain?

ESC

I think the grey on the right side is too flat. Looks PS'ed over even if it isn't. Lopeside the picture.

I'd say back to the drawing table. I don't know what you did but don't do it again

time for me to finally get back to this shot.

i completely forgot that i had even posted it! :? so here it is.

i actually didn't do anything to this one but go greyscale.

i moved on to something else and haven't worked on this at all, yet.

here is the original. any suggestions on how to make this bad shot decent would be

great.

i will try and make some time to get this one right 'cause i feel, with the right touches,

it has some potential.

thanks, guys for the help! scot

can you believe that the color is natural?

this is one of a series of shots, and the only one to come out with this particular

color pattern. i felt that it was rather flat when first viewed.

and i think your right, dale. mucho better than the b&w travisty.

let me see if i can make it even more palattable...

I like both the shots, they both have good points, I am going to post 2 reworks. I am not sure they are better, but they are different.
