Hi All,

Here are a couple of pics that I took on Nov 5th but only just been able to download. This was my first attempt at taking fireworks.

What could I do to improve these as I don't think they are as good as they could have been?

EXIF

F16

18mm

ISO 200

I was using a bulb exposure and covering the lens between bursts.

It was a very windy evening so even on the tripod there was a little wobble.

Thanks,

Mark

i think you could crop up to where the fireworks start.. that will take out the distraction of the streetlights.. then i think a little level adjustments to make the sky more black will make the fireworks standout a little bit more.. i think if you play with those 2 things a bit, you will like the results much better..

I like the edits a LOT better. The street light were definitly distracting, and the darker background helps the colors stand out more. Nicely done.

Yup. No denying it. The edits blew'em outa the park. Home run for sure. (Was that Dustin's suggestion?:! Good call...

Sure was.... I look forward to the day when I can see things like that myself so that I don't need to ask for advice.

The other day I tried to take fireworks and but the results were so bad that I did not bother to post them. I see that you have done well. Couldn't say more than Dustin has suggested.
