Had some trouble with the tripod. And my son is not that willing a subject and he kept rushing me. Plus, this was taken the next town over, and is not the best neighborhood so I didn't stay too long. OK, enough with the excuses....

Something about the light flare as soon as you look at the picture, it draws you away from the subject. I think you should have moved in some, cut out some of the distractions.

The lights definitely get all of the attention and lead you from the nearest to the back of the image. Even when I try to concentrate on the person, my eyes jump back to the lights. I also think a b/w conversion would be a better choice over color.

Someone suggested a different white balance, but he didn't go into more detail so I'll have to email him. Anyway, I need the lamp in there because I'm using photos to illustrate a Greeday song, and one of the lines is " Starry nights city lights coming down over me"

i agree with the suggestion on the black and white.. i think it will elevate the mood here.. and fix the white balance issue..
