so far i like this one best, nicely composed, great lighting...her expression is still a bit weird but not too bad. the mono looks great too!

I like the pose in general. Her expression is the first thing I notice. I'm not sure what expression she was going for but it also looks somewhat forced. The lighting on this one is ok but a little hot on the top and I would like to see a little catch light in the eyes. Her left arm also seems odd, maybe due to perspective. It seems to get slim a little to soon.

I have to agree with Widow and julies Overall I like this shot, and the way you have it cropped coming out of the left corner. But the lighting on top is little hot and the second thing I noticed was the left arm it does kinda look wierd like it gets real skinny. But overall nice shot!

i think the reason her arm looks funny is because it is angling behind her giving it a bit of a diminishing perspective.. it does look weird now doesnt it?

i think she moved closer to the light here, and i didn't compensate for that.. leading to a more pronounced area of light leading to the overexposure.. must remember to move back the lights or turn them down a bit when the model is moved..

thank you all for the comments, all is very helpful!!

I agree with previous posters. This shot looks best of all. Would be good to see it in color. Here in b/w the right hand looks almost blended with the background.( it could be my uncalibrated monitor)
Few more details I noticed: shoulder strap a bit too tight, and her neck looks too wide- uncomfortable head position caused the muscle to bulge.

Again - lighting, exposure and composition are good IMO.

I keep forgetting that this is the 1st studio shoot! Its great for the 1st time!

Yeah, its getting too cold for landscape, let's move inside!:|

thanks AK.. appreciate your comments on this and the other posts..

overall i was pleased with the shoot since it was my first time.. which is difficult because i am a bit of a perfectionist and hold my standards for myself quite high, so its easy for me to just see what i did wrong..

hopefully though, those things will help with the next shoot..
