a little trick i picked up from flickr, thought i'd share....done with photoshop.

the recipe is: choose a photo, crop to a square.* choose filter-distort-polar coordinates. choose polar-rectangle click ok. rotate image 180 degrees. choose filter-distort-polar coordinates, choose rectangular to polar, click ok. done......some of you may find this silly, but i warn you it can be addictive .

these look cool julie.. you could cut and paste a few of them together to make a bigger picture in a checkerboard pattern with some nicely complimenting colors for a cool mural type shot..

it's a fun little trick, i've seen some people do that cut and paste thing, i'll have to try it.
