I also had a crack at the moon last night. Canon 20D,70-300mm IS USM, hand held.

handheld... tsk tsk..

a tripod would have helped out the sharpness here.. also the moon is almost a bit overexposed causing you to lose some detail.. bracket an exposure next time and i think you will nail it..

What speed did you have to use handholding that? Even for IS it's not THAT good.

I agree with dustin that it's a little soft and the edge is blown out a bit.

I do like that lens a lot though... the more I use it the more I like it. I just wish it was 2.8...

no, he did not crop it...he used a 20" refractor
