well i am glad it didnt get away julie.. this one is my favorite of the two you posted today.. i like the perspective and composition and its really sharp.. looks good! you still using the 70-300 w. a diopter? anyways, good results..

just those shadows on the foreground petal are too bad.. have you tried using a reflector (i.e. piece of white cardboard, etc) to fill??

for the lily shots i am using my sigma 90mm macro. it's definitely a sharper lens than the 70-300. i'll try a reflector next time, i was late for my painting class and trying to squeeze too much into too little time,* i guess i forgot about my trusty poster board, LOL. thank you dustin.

sigma90mm macro?? i know they have a 105mm and tamron has a 90mm.. did i miss something??

thank you ISoS, yes dustin a sigma 90mm macro. it's probably about 10 years old, do they not make them anymore?

I saw one on Ebay for $200, buy it now $250.

Julie... This is really nice. Sharp, sharp, sharp. I think the shadow of the stamen on the far petal is very nice. But I wish the foreground petal had more light... ( OH NO! Did I agree with... Dustin ! ) If needed we'll all chip in and buy you a white poster board.
