i'm posting this here because i really respect you guys' opinions here in the critiques and techniques section and this is pretty much the only place i post, hopefully i'll change that though. either way, do any of you have experience with medium format cameras? I'm looking to get one and experiment a little, looking for one below 300 dollars and would appreciate it if any of you had information or experience with them and could give me some tips or info. Thanks in advance.

hey man..

for that price.. its going to be a little tough maybe.. but you may be able to get close to your price range with like a mamya 645 or a pentax 645..

you can look at some used prices at www.keh.com

For that price, you're gonna need to pick up an old school Mamiya F330 or C330 TLR. If you can get past the fact that they are old, they take great pictures and the lenses are cheap. You can get them on eBay for a very reasonable price.

i'm wondering if the seagull TLR's are really bad or with the right film can take just as good of a photo in clarity and quality as a mamiya or rollei. but does anyone know anything about the seagulls ???? the one i was looking at was around 200 bucks i think, model no. like G109

if you are going with an older TLR the Yashika's have very sharp lenses and would be a better choice than the Seagull.. they can be had for a reasonable price as well..

ya i'm thinkin the mamiya C330 or a yashica is the way to go. the seaguls are not respected at all for image quality i dont believe. still wish i could get my hands on a rollei though, lol.

for a little more you can get a hasselblad 500CM off ebay, or for about $20.00 you can get a holga

how about and get a holga.. for 20 bucks there is no reason to choose.. hehe..

i can tell you from personal experience mike that the Yashica's lens is sharp.. very sharp.. and if you get one with a working meter, its pretty accurate..
