Got out today for the first time with my 300 F4 L IS and 1.4 TC. This puts me at 420 f5.6. Its also sharper and faster focusing than the 100-400 L IS. There is no problem shooting wide open with this lens. Im going to try it out at the LA Zoo today and see how difficult the fixed focal length is going to make the shoot.

Hope you don't mind, and can ignore my 3 minute photoshop on this... but I was looking for a photo to practice this technique on today, and I happen to have found yours, which was perfect for it!

Again, not a perfect edit, or trying to "improve" on your technique... just my own practice, and thought you might get a kick out of it.

damn...just realized my drop shadow on the pic itself is on the wrong side...grr...oh well :)

Don't miod it at all. Looks good. I had planned on using this one myself at a first attempt with that effect. Your looks good. I am still going to give it a go and try to have some of the water splash out of the picture as well.

Windowmaker, you new lens seem to be full of magic, of course the man behind it is supa. The lighting, the colour, very good use of the rule of the 3rd, sharp are all . The other make up is very good too.
