I think I would like the first one more if it had a bit more focus, just enough to make out the crevaces.

As for the Fungus among Us shot, I would have placed the focus on one of the more intersting formations, not on the bare spot.

I have to give you credit for getting out there and experimenting. Looks like your having fun.

the first one lacks any depth, texture or anything.. its just patterned colors..

the second one, i think you missed the right focal point.. the area that you are trying to present here is an area devoid of texture.. getting closer and using the selective focus on a formation or something could have worked better..
