Im interested in knowing what made you try out this particular lens.

Seems like you are having a ball with this lens, more power to you. It just doesnt seem that it brings anything to the party that couldnt be done easlily in software, while not "wasting" a shot that might otherwise be useful.

not that having fun is not useful in itself, you know what I mean. :-)

some people still prefer to do things in the camera rather than post processing.* lensbaby has a cool random quality to it that some people just prefer, certainly many effects can be done on the computer but i'll still shoot slide film so i can make polaroid transfers/lifts, i'll still use my holga and still shoot with the lensbaby. of course with the lensbaby on my digital i can delete the ones i don't want anyway.

hmm... hmm... i have looked at this 3 times and something keeps bothering me.. for one, i wish i could see the pupil.. and 2 i think its too tight... yes, you are going to say, its a macro, its supposed to be tight.. but, hear me out.. i think by going this tight you are losing some of the effect of the lensbaby.. here the oof areas do not look any different than normal shallow dof from macro.. why not pull back a bit.. include both eyes, and use the lensbaby to highlight one eye.. leaving the other one blurred.. then crop off to a pano or something interesting.. in short, make use of the selective dof..

I think the trick is in what is bothering. You. I think that is what MJ is aiming to achieve. It nears the mother of all abstraction.
