Hi All,

Happy New Year!!

I finally have a camera again, so will be able to actually _take_ photos again, rather than sifting through old ones and editing them.

This is one of a few that I took in my back garden today. I have one of a fox as well, but unfortunately, there's a twig across its face. Anyway, back on topic...

Some sort of berries... What do you think of the framing / crop - is the subject too central?

7D/Tamron 70-300 LD Macro
PP has been a levels edit and some sharpening.

Best,

-Ben

Hi,

I would have probably cropped as attached (and just cloned out the top right leaf)... there are some leaves in focus around theframe of the shot. Also that coloured leaf in the right center of the background is a little distracting.

Nice and sharpshot though...

Dom

GREAT CAMERA ! Nice shot.

I like Dom's crop...

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"It wouldn't hurt to clean the bad spots on the leaves and that one bright one in back should go as the the ever observant Dom suggested

the crop definately helped out here.. a shade more depth of field would have allowed the closer berries to be a bit sharper.. otherwise it looks like a good start with your new cam, will be looking forward to more..

best wishes,
-dustin

All,

my apologies for not replying for so long. It's been busy around here. I really appreciate your suggestions and comments and will act on them as soon as I get the chance .

Aumma: The Camera is Konica Minolta 7D (maxxum or dynax, depending on which part of the world you're in). I'm really enjoying it so far ;D

Thanks again, all!

Best,

-Ben

Hi All,

Thanks for your patience.

I finally got the edit done - have cropped as Dom suggested, changed the colour of that orange leaf in the bg, and cloned out some spots. Let me know what you think!

Thanks again!

Best wishes,

-Ben

just my own tuppence worth, but i'd have cropped - or composed - that subject morelike this... not so much 'stuff' on the sides that doesn't add anything to the image...
