IMAGE REMOVED..sorry.

Hey,

At this time I was learning to meter for capture of the sun. I had so much fun shooting the sun in different situations...it's not good to look at the sun when photographing so I only shot a portion of it here. It's a craaazy shot but that's why I like it!!

Nice shot, stitch. Did you use a filter of any type in this shot?

Just wondering how you managed to look at the sun and not go blind. Nevertheless, you have done very well. Three cheers!

I like this a lot. How did you get the 'streaks' from the sun? Was it just a small aperture or is there more to it than that?

Shadowlies- Thanks! Nope, didn't use any filters. Just usual processing from RAW and sharpening.

Aumma45- Heheh...don't know how I didn't go blind either. I tried to not look at the sun but my eyes were sure watering big time from the otherwise brightness! Thanks a bunch for your comment!

Dustin- Thanks so very much! Summer is my fave time of year...as I'm sure it is for many... :-)

Frenchy- I'm glad you've enjoyed the image. Now you've got me thinking....I'm not sure if it's got to do with the aperture or not....I'm gonna have to go out and test that one out! Here are the settings I used. Hope it helps.

ISO100 Shutter Speed 1/250 sec. Aperture f11 Focal Length 70mm

it is the smallish aperture that caused the streaks.. which i think look really nice with this picture..
