hi all please give me your views, this is chepstow castle here in south wales, it wasn't a very good day weather wise, so i took it in b & w.

Neat shot. I like the soft focus at the top, adds a nice effect to the sky. Only thing I would say applies to the path at the bottom.I thinkit would look better toinclude the whole thing orcrop it off entirely.

what i like

black and white presentation
good texture in sky and castle

what can be improved

the tree on the right distracts.. it is so much darker than the subject that the eye is naturally drawn there.
the path
could use a little more interesting foreground possibly..

a mostly agree with Dustin. i wonder, too, what it would look like with a closer shot, perhaps more of an upward perspective on the parapet at the left.... to give it a sort of looming, ominous presence...

also, shooting from a vantage point more to the left would emphasize the tower and let the rest of the castle flow away from it...

You were right to shoot in B&W with a dreary sky like that...good thinking! I do have to agree that the tree could be tossed. Thanks for sharing Alex!
