~I took this at a marine in Cape May after we arrived back from being 29 miles out on a fishing trip. The sun wasn't quite down, but I managed to create a silhouette. I tried to get one seagull in the frame, but every pole had a seagull on top. From the angleI was shooting it was tuff. Does the composistion with the other seagull in the back work? Used the 70-200 f4L.~

hi philly i like the silhouette, its a nice shot, the only thing i would have done is cloned out the seagull in the background.

I love it. Ths is really nice. Did you take a few more shots with the other bird.
I like him back there but this is kind of a tweener. More or out, might be better but this flys as is.

actually, the second silhouette in the background adds to the image. i think it would've been even better if you could have shot it in vertical format, and perhaps from a bit higher angle, to include even more of the second piling and bird. it gives a sort of ghostly "echo" effect, almost like a reflection in the mist, but is far enough in the background - and blurry enough - that there's no mistaking the subject of the shot...

I really like this also...I love the mirrored look of the gull in the background. With or without the background gull, it's a terrific capture!
