WOW!

What an amazing shot. I have seen so many cloud formations that seem to mimic what's down below on land, but for one reason or another haven't been lucky or quick enough to capture some. This is great!

Hi there peripatetic!

A nice composition of powerful clouds. There are several layers of clouds which makes it interesting for me. For some reason I'd like to know, were you shooting this pointing your camera straight up or at another angle? (I'm just curious as one can't tell from the photo).

Best wishes

Paul

to be completely honest, i have never really been a big fan of clouds only shots.. i like to have some land and context.. moving on, there is a lot of texture and depth in this shot.. but for some reason appears too tight.. not sure why it feels this way, just does..

anyways, i think itsjust a bit dark on the right hand side.. i think if you opened it up just a bit you could keep the ominous darkness and get a little more detail?

In that case I don't see anything... Love the texture.

Paul,

It was taken pointing towards the horizon.

I find it very interesting that some people can clearly see the face in the clouds and some people obviously can't.

The thundergod is sticking his head out on the right hand side to have a look around before zapping down about 100 bolts of lightning over the next hour or so.

If you can't see it then start bottom right with his neck, moving up to his chin about one third of the way up, mouth, eyes, then back up right to his forehead and top-knot.

The darkest bit is the face. Once you see it, it becomes difficult to see anything else.
