i like this a lot... the contrast between the weathered,burnt wood and the vibrant green of the plant, plus the frail vulnerability of that tiny sprout make for a very interesting and compelling image.

cool shot E.S. reminds me of Dustins photo of the leaf on the deck or whatever surface it was. his photo is awesome lookin and so is this one. did you use a blur effect on this or something?

thanks, guys.

i like these shots, myself.

it lets you see a whole other world.

to mike, what i used here is something that i have been playing with called " soft focus".

you can either do it yourself with a blur tool in pscs, or picasa has it as an "effect".

either way, i like how it gives the shots subject more focus, and in some cases, gives

the shot a sort of vignette effect without the shading.

i like it but i think it gives it a sort of unnatural look because there's no way it coulda been blurred like that, even if the dof was so small there'd still be a path thru some of the wood. either way nice shot, i'd just suggest to not go too heavy on the effect.
