This was a hurried hand held sunset I got the other evening - wish I'd had my tripod with me.

Nice pic Steve. Well done especially hand held. We all have to make do with what is at hand some days.

Is it just me or is the pic a little noisy?

that sun looks huge.. and i like the soft colors.. but the tripod would have allowed you to shoot at lower ISO's and thus would have had a more pleasing smooth image.. btw- i just keep my tripod in my car at all times just in case... just leave it there..

Especially true when it comes toCricket teams (Good news is the Super 14 Rugby's about to get under way)

You are right Shadow it is a bit noisy - from memory I think it was at 400 ISO on my 5500 and it was toward the long end of its zoom.

Thanks everyone,

Dustin I've also taken to keeping the 'pod in the car, but had taken it out earlier- one of those lessons, like spare batteries & cards!
