IMAGE REMOVED..sorry.

Was just reviewing some of my photos and thought I'd post this one for some thoughts. Lighting was from a window(right side of image)and I used some foil as a reflector to bounce some light back onto the left side of theimage for the flower. I'd never tried using anything to reflect light before so it was totally new to me but I think it worked out rather well. All comments welcome. :G

Aperture f5.6

Shutter Speed 1/4 sec.

StitchBabe, it looks as though the reflector's really helped out there - the whole of the flower is nice and bright.

I've never used a reflector before either but might start playing around now.

its underexposed. the paper is grey and the flower lacks punch. but i like the idea, just needs a bit of work.

IMAGE REMOVED..sorry.

Frenchy-Yeah, it's amazing how it all works!

Dustin-Thanks...how's this? I originally didn't like the bright white so I toned the image down.

I think the 2nd one is better. I agree, the first one was underexposed.I tried doing a shot like this recently (except it was a guitar pick on the sheet music..not a flower) and it took me a little bit of work to get the exposure right. I also used a light tent tosoften the light and eliminate the shadows (like the one you have on the page). Nice detail on the flower. Bravo for attempting something a little different.
