Here are the last two, with the first im not sure about the cropping, maybe needed to change the angle i shot at? and also not sure about the selective colour in it.

and with the second again with hindsight thanks to feedback from you guys I now think i missed on the focus, maybe made it look like his head is stuck on?

Cheers

second

Hiya,

I think the first shot is a little too high. I also think if you could have his paws and tail in the shot it would benefit. Maybe if you come down just a little lower you could have kept these in frame? Also the selective colour goes a little unnoticed as this dog could quite easily have a black coat anyway.

Second one I do like. Great pose really makes him look great! Not too sure about the DOF again on this one. You have his nose nice and sharp but his eyes are a little OOF. Not sure if this matters or not as he is not looking at you, but feel that it could be just a smidge wider to catch his nose and eyes.

Great patience from your pooch anyway! He has sat how many sessions with you now????:-)

Thanks Dom, The first photo when converted to black and white made his tongue look odd! agree on the angle 100%.

for the second again I agree that bit of extra dof to bring his eyes into focus would make it a better photo.

He loves getting his photo taken because he gets paid in little chocolate bones!

That's a relief Stu - Nice looking dog and very nice Black & Whites that bring out his character well.

I think the 2nd one is great, the only issue i have with it is...well...he kinda looks like his hind quarters are squatting to get rid of those chocolate bones if you get my meaning!

the lighting and presentation is great in shot #2. i kind of agree with the weir squatting stance, maybe a bit tighter crop would alleviate this though. and just a shade more dof to get the eyes sharp.

i must say that i really have enjoyed this dog portrait set. once you get the depth of field perfect these are going to be calendar quality shots.
