Hi All,

I'm not usually brave enough to post in here, but just wanted to get some thoughts as I have not tried abstract before.

What do you think?

Mark.

Hmmm Not so sure this is abstract but I definitely like the composition and DOF on this . Nice Shot.

Interesting angle and framing, coupled with good depth of field control and contrast-creating lighting.

Nice

nice side lighting and good textures. the foreground cog at the top of the frame is quite prominent and oof, which is almost distracting. maybe crop a bit of that out?

I kinda like the oof part on the top than it goes to focus than the DOF out of focus shall we say kinda gives it a nice look. But maybe crop it and post with out the top part just to see. But I like it as I see it.

Not a bad shot conceptually, two things however....

one. make this a BW shot with contrast kicked up very high.
two. You should have shot this with maximum depth of field possible, the eye automatically travels left, where i think your shot could have been more ballanced and interesing.

good first try
