Julie - you consistently post great shots of flowers of all types - what's the secret and how do you set them up (in terms of lighting and positioning, etc.)?

thank you for your kind words frenchy, so nice of you to say.* i try to use natural daylight as much as possible, usually my kitchen window. sometimes i use posterboard as a reflector and rice paper as a diffuser. i try not to use bright sun as it blows the highlights and is just too hot in general.* i also use a tripod. i also will use a single bulb if i'm shooting at night, i set the bulb for directional lighting, overhead or from one side. poitioning varies, sometimes i use a background such as a black velvet drape or white posterboard to highlight one particular flower...sometimes i just use macro to get in close to frame particular colors or textures/patterns in a flower- depends on the flower.

Julie, I am a late arrival but better late than never. Simply gorgeous!

Thanks for that bit to frenchy about how you do it. Regards. Jaki.

Very nice picture jules but I could have done without any reference to Valentines Day.

Monday was a really bad day for me - with Lincoln's birthday on Sunday and Valentines day on Tuesday I felt compelled to free my love slaves
