Nice bright colours and good depth of field but it would benefit from moving the flower from the centre of the frame - use the rule of thirds there, or perhaps focus on a specific part of the flower.

G'day,

thanks for the comment. Opinion and advice noted. And yes come to think of it the more I look at it the less I like it myself. Although having said that it was one of the first of hundreds of shots to come. Can only get better with any luck

i agree... getting offand/or getting a less straight on shot would be more interesting.. don't be afraid to take several shots from different angles and with different placements in the frame.. then go back through them and see what you like and don't like.. its a good learning tool..
