Julies, being my mentor I can only learn from you, difficult to comment though. :G Now to much more serious stuff: Colours: the light blue and white blend very well. DOF: soft blur texture of the surrounding and good details of the middle. I think you intended this effect. Correct exposure. That is about I can see. Regards. Jaki.

i am not a huge fan of this one jules.. i have seen some better ones on flickr that you have not posted here..

for me the depth of field is disorienting, and the comp is a bit awkward, kind of an inbetweener.. also, the highlight on the far petal holds my attention a bit much..

Nice colours.¬* Some of¬* the 'yellow fibres' seem to be blurred but others at the same distance are not ¬* ¬* I'm with HARDS ...just got back from your site, you have some REALLY nice stuff over there!

Hey Julie, I think it's nice - but then again I'm not especially noted for my photographic appreciation skills:GLike the yellow/blue combination but think it would have been better with the black seeds(?) more in focus. Also a wider crop maybe?

thanks for commenting everyone .¬* i used a 6T close up filter with this one. there is a very shallow field of focus, anything not on the same plane will lose focus- sometimes it works- sometimes not LOL.¬* Dustin- thank you for your comments about my site, i know people here tire of "flower shots" and since that is what i shoot a lot of i try not to post too many here. Red Rhino- thanks for visiting flickr, Jaki and Steve- thank you for your comments, i always look forward to hearing from you .
