Do you prefer this to the other squirrel? Just doing an unscientific poll...

Hi Lt, I prefer the other one as the subject stands out better. On this one he is competeing with the background for my attention.Would have been better with less depth of field, I think. Just my impressions - nice compostion though.

Thanks Steve, appreciate your thoughts on this. I did think that it blended in pretty well with the tree too.

this shot looks very undersaturated and lacking in contrast?

did you by chance use the shadows/highlights tool or something?

As a matter of fact I did. I was trying to see if I could even out the shadows and highlights, and still saturate the color on the squirrel, but I somehow couldn't get it to come out right.

The left side of the picture or right side of the squirrel was really bright in the original. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

Is this any better? Thanks for looking and commenting, I really appreciate your insight and knowledge.
