The second image is powerful with some nice lines except for that black dot (that you may choose to clone out).

I've been watching your 'smoke' images with awe, Crawford. This time I see you decided to work on greater scale!!
These are great shots. For the first shot, I think you used the 5x optical zoom of your camera, and because you shot handheld ,despite the high shutterspeed, the image appears to be slightly soft. However, the magic of the second shot lies in the first one and I see great potentiality in it.
The second one is quite a stunner. There's only a point I would like to understand. On the righthandside, the reflection on the water go darker very rigidly without any diffusion, as if done with a ruler.

Both are lovely shots, Scot.

The first I like because it instils a sense of calm in me, and because it shows the texture of the sky wonderfully.

The second, the reflection is just wonderful. (but I would clone out the buoy).
