i like the color and texture, the composition seems a little...well- truncated (sorry, i couldn't stop myself) ....a little tight but a pleasing image nonetheless.

I cannot name the tree. Probably none of the species around here. Yet I can feel how it firmly grasp the ground to survive. The vivid reddish tones make beautiful contrast to the background. Fallen leaves(not very sure) and the tiny roots exposed to daylight which stand like hays, here and there, add much to the tonality and the rich authentic texture of the image. Maybe an upper part weighted USM can even bring greater glory to your image.
Meanwhile, I wonder how it would be if you had captured a horizontal image rather than the the present vertical one, so as to provide more of the rich composition about the roots of the tree while preserving just the essentials from the trunk.

where you lens baby-ing this one as well? Odd that the top of the trunk is OOF unless it is tilted towards the viewer and the DOF was shallow...

This has some great colors, and it looks like a neat fun little tree (sounds like something bob ross would say)

Good color, saturation etc. but to my eye, it doesn't offer a lot of appeal. I wouldn't say there's much to remark on. I'm probably looking with a somewhat jaundiced eye, we have so many fab posts on site, this one is low on the totem pole, IMO. Just can't see a lot of appeal.
