LOL! I could probably get away with red and yellow, since it was on the USC campus, but I'd be more likely to use blue and gold, being a UCLA fan,and that would get me in all kinds of trouble!:evil:

David - I did finally figure that out this morning, and I agree with you - the diagonal line is what caught my eye in the first place, but then forgot about it when I was trying to frame the picture. I don't think I'll have a chance to re-shoot it any time soon, so will just let it go.

RedRhino - I played a bit with the second one, upping the contrast and desaturating it, changed the crop, then blurring the background. What do you think of this?

I like this better. I think it it would be worth cloning out the padlock. It would remove the reason for the tilt and maybe add to the curiousity of the image. Not sure how you adjusted the contrast but you may want to attempt using a classic 'S-curve' within curves adjustment.
