I actually prefer the first one (saturation, contrast from the Velvia action). I think it goes with the subject mattter better, and I really like the shot (makes me want to be there).

As for the horizon being distracting... perhaps. I'm wondering if the frame color may be partly responsible though (white frame, white horizon), and if using a darker (perhaps even Olive/Black) colored frame may help.

I tried some variations with darker bordersand I think they do indeed look better with this picture. Here's an example.I think this would be better if the frame were a bit narrower, but I'm not sure how to do it yet. I'll keep trying.

I think I would vote for the original or the second edit. The colour are more closer to natural. Jaki

Great shot! Second is closest to natural, first and third oversaturated. Backpacked the area, includingabove Waimea canyon.

I like the third one, the second looks like it has a haze.

Brett- the photo was taken last June. Although I posted this picture on another message board shortly after my vacation, I'm pretty sure its not the exact same photo. You could literally park your car and take this picture without having to walk more than 100ft; so I'm sure that several thousand people have a similar picture. Just goes to show sometimes the easy shots aren't all that bad:-)(the story just isn't as good).

Maybe I should try and sell it...

Thanks again to all for your comments.
