I've been carrying my camera around with me more lately and think I'm starting to get the hang of it. I've been focusing on holding the camera steady as well as increasing shutter speed, shooting in the raw and adjusting exposure and white balance in the conversion. This photo and the one in the other post were shot from about 100 yards away, I'd guess in a dark arena. Any comments or suggestions would be great.

Exposure time: 1/100s
Aperture: 4.1
Date Taken: 3/15/06 10:58 PM
ISO: 100
Metering mode: Evaluative
Focal length: 104.0mm

Welcome to the forum. As you can see camera shake has affected the photo, but if you cannot use a tripod, you might trying placing the camera some place for steadiness. Takes a bit of practices. Otherwise I think you have done quite well. Regards. Jaki

Good timing of the shot but if you raise the ISO a few notches you'll be able to reduce the shutter speed, which will make things sharper. It might also allow for a 'brighter' shot.

Ahh, good point. You know, I haven't really touched ISO. Just left it at 100. Reason being that I noticed noise when I was taking some test shots when I first got the camera. Makes sense thought that a little noise is better than blur, and a lot of noise can be taken care of on the PC.

Thanks!

One of my favourite bands, but i'm just not qualified to give any technical advice.

Would be nice if they gigged Reading Rock Festival again!

Cool shots.
