Hi everyone, the person kissing the girl on the cheek is my fiance and the girl is her niece. This was taken in her room, with a sigma 500 bounced off the wall. I really do wish I had a real studio.

That's an excellent capture. A little pp would help bring things out a bit more. I would be really pleased if I had taken this.

Thanks Syd, you would be surprise just how much pp has gone into the photo. I think what you are referring to is the desaturation. Here is another version without the desaturation...

I think that's much better. Has a bit more punch. Just seemed lacking something in the first.

Thanks Syd. What I did was a created a black and white layer with a bit of a glow to it, then I lowered the opacity until I got the look I was going for - very muted colours and a soft focus - guess it didn't work to well...

It's a great capture though. Could sell well as a stock photo too, as well as being hung onthe wall as a large print. Great expression on the child, loving motherly tenderness in the kiss, it has some humour too. I can imagine that Mum being really pleased with this shot. I've noticed you seem to have this gift for perfect timing. (or a good burst mode on that camera). :-)

Thanks Syd, its almost burst mode - I spent half an hour in the room with them. In all that time, there has to be one or two shots that capture expression. Unfortunately burst doesn't work to well with a flash or else their would be alot more.
