I like it. Beautiful capture. I like the background colour but can't help wondering what it would look like with a black background.

Curiosity killed the cat . . . a very, very quick edit.

Thanks Syd, I like it with the black background too. I will have to reshoot this with a black background the next time, as my skills in Photoshop are not quite to that level yet. Glad you like the picture too.

My pp "skills" are extremely limited. I just hit the background with the magic wand and cranked up the threshold to black. When I've done this before I have then just gone around the edges carefully and painted the rest.

Regards,

Syd

hi syd just feather the selection by about 1 to 5 pix, then go toselect ,modify then expand pixels by 1 or 2, then fill with colour.

Sometimes the flowers which are dead centred are don't appeal to me but this one does especially that it is tilted at a nice angle. I don't mind the original background. Black of course with red would be splendid. LT trying using a black background once. Regards and well done. I see you are catching up with Julie :G. Jaki.

LOL, i am picturing myself running through a field of flowers being chased by LT7 waving clippers and laughing maniacally. i like the angle here and i think this is a really good attempt.... i wish the center petals were a little sharper, that there was a little greater DoF here. also your background is not quite white, i think if you had a brighter white background or as everyone suggested, a black background- the flower would really pop! sometimes when my background isn't quite white i add a little diffuse glow or i play around in curves to whiten the background without altering the flower too much. overall a very pleasing image though- i'm being a bit nit-picky because i know you can make beautiful flower shots
