i was going for a semi-portrait thing here, something to really show her interest or talent. so i put her on the right side barely, just enough to see someone was playing the music. i also like the darkness of it so exposure advice isn't what i'm lookin for here really. does it work?

It works for me Mike, good shot! The only think i'll do is to vanish that sheet music on the middle right, it's a bit distracting to me.

I appreciate what your attempting but it misses the mark for me. Too much 'image noise' in the bottom underneith the music stand. I think it is a bed (???). I seem to make out rain on the window ( might be my imagination). I think if the composition was altered to include more window, get rid the bed and sheet music under her chin, it would change this crowded composition and would add more power to this image.

Overall: I applaud your creativity, Mike. This one causes one to stop, pause and contemplate.

For those new or have not taken the opportunity... visit Mike's web site... he seems to hide all sorts of gems there that never appear here... http://www.pbase.com/mikej86
