You have done a fine job using natural light here. Overall, it is a fine image, but a tad too soft and exposure too weak for my taste.

When shooting close-up portraits as this, you want to lead the viewer directly to the subject's eyes and have no distractions to pull the viewer away or out of the frame. Areas of high contrast such as the area left of the subject's face are very distracting and lead the viewer away from the intended center of interest.

I find the highlights created by the back lighting to be quite charming, giving a natural frame to the face.

The expression is a bit pugnacious, indicating this child isn't going to be messed with much. Very cute.
