i've been messing with this shot all morning and realized finally that the original is

just fine on it's own.

water drops on a freshly painted mantle.

now don't tell me that your eye doesn't move ALL OVER THE PLACE on this one!

enough to give one a headache...

thanks, BG!

i'm glad to see that i'm not the only one who likes this shot, even though it goes

against most rules of photography.

this is actually the sun rise hitting a mantle i painted yesterday (that i forgot to bring

in last night )) and perfect little drops of dew.

i love nature, don't you?

i might have to "forget" to bring it in again tonight so i can try a few more things

tomorrow morning...

Scot,

I like this shot a lot, and yes it does mess with your mind!

Nice and sharp too.

Only thing that bothers me is on the soft light edit, the drops towards the bottom of the frame have rather artificial 'halo' like things - at least on my monitor...

Maybe I need to back off on the daiquiris

Best,

-Ben

Good picture!

You hypnotise people!:?

And also I cansee many little frogs having bright eyes :-) (in the second picture, especiallyin the lower corners ...)

Hadn't seen it in that way until you mentioned it, but darn, those ARE loads of little frogs with bright eyes... smiling frogs with glasses, even! 8)

woah... makes it even more hypnotising.

Best,

It's an interexting concept. I would like to see it without the blown highlights and out-of-focus foreground.

here's another, straight into the sunrise this morning.

shot at 1/500, f/7.9, the highest f stop my little digicam will go.

the shallow dof may be because i am shooting in super macro.

the drops in this particular shot are about one sixteenth of an inch in diameter.

the size of the tip of a pencil, for reference.

I like these Scot - very interesting. Just for me, I find the glare spot on the first one a bit distracting and think itmight be better without it altogether?
