G'day all,

thought I would quickly snap this...crop it....frame it, sign it and deliver it to you guys for critique and/or appreciation. Please be gentle with me, took me ages trying to come up with something original. Luckily I didn't have the judges hot breath beating down upon me to get it right and win lots of prizes.

Fire away folks

Ollie

Too conservative and backward for my tastes(no offense WAS taken btw before we were so rudely interrupted) :G

Don't know if this one really does anything for me Ollie, just seems a bit awkward on the eye?

Ollie,

I like the clean lines, bronze hue and minimalist feel of this one. However, I do think it's a little bit too close-cropped on the bottom; give it a bit more space there?

I'm not sure about the composition; it doesn't quite work for me...

Try making it so the lamp is one one 'third' and the shadow of it is on another?

Not sure if that will work better, but something to try maybe...

I really like the idea and execution here, except for I'm struggling on the composition.

There's an excellent shot somewhere in this one.

Best,

-Ben

Hello Ollie,

I like this alot , I think if you were going to frame it to sell I would leave just a little more room on the top and bottom so it does not get cut off when matting. Did you ever try turning it upside down to see what it looks like?

G'day all,

ahh hah!! I knew I put this one up already. I think Syd said it in my other post of the same pic. Was wondering why it looked familiar. Silly me. Ok I think the comments about giving it a bit more space top and bottom are fair ones. The idea was that at one end of the chandeller/lamp and at the other end the shadow trying to touch the top as it looks like it is sstretching.

The upside down idea might work also. As for composition of thirds etc. I was really going for a central them with a slight twist. As you can see it goes from bottom left to top right ever so slightly. The only option I have would be to rotate it a little more.

See how I go. Thanks for the comments. And disregard my other post. Might change that one to another pic of bottles...or sinks....or something.
