Now thatspring is here I thought I'd have a go at taking some flower pics. This was the best of the first batch. What are your thoughts on improving?

Well, I bet you were excited when you took it. I only say that was becuase the first time I took some pictures of flowers I was. Then when I looked at it again, I noticed the framing was a little off. In this picture, the left side of the flower and the bottompetalare both cut-off, but not the right.IMHO if you watch your framing and lighting, that is most of the battle won. Great first flower shot though, nice and sharp.

Thanks for the comments. I couldnt do anything about missing the edge off as they have wilted and died since I took the pic, but I have tried to warm it up a bit.

Not sure if there is a right way to do this, I duplicated in multiply mode ad then lightened areas that were a bit too dark.

Any better?

Love the shot and colors, and ken beat me to it, I was going to say crop it tighter and even it out so both sides are cut off even. Looks better that way I think.
