I tried my hand at macro photography this afternoon. As a novice, I have to admit I am finding the D50 slightly overwhelming, but I am determind to learn.

Shot at F8 1/100 Shutter speed.

As always, any advice or comments you could give me, is always welcomed.

I see no problem in your picture.

I hardly tryed to catch this kind plant in many ways but all the time the DOF of pictures was so little so not the entire "flower" was clear. I used an even small aperture than you, but your picture is more clear!

nice shot

i think in this instance the shot would have looked really nice somewhere between your composition and a diagonal composition.

i also think add a lil more dof to the shot so the entire subject is sharp and infocus

Normally a blurred background due to DOF effects does not distract but in this case I think the triangular pattern just takes away a tad.

Love the photo otherwise.
