Not sure if this is the rare Green flash people talk about at sunsets or not. thought it was cool if not.

It looks like some sort of internal reflection of the sunoff one of the lens elements and/or filter if you had one attached.

well this was a sunset cruise and the guide said there could be a green flash of some sort. I Googled GreenFlash and there is such a thing just not sure if this is what this is. I took a bunch of other pics of the sunset and this one and the one right after it both have the green spot. Not sure, just thought maybe a accidently captured something rare, but oh well if i did not.

From those rare shots of a Greenflashes I encountered, yours unfortunately is not looking alike... It's more lens flare than a greenflash.

Never mind, next time.

This is clearly lens flare. The easiest way to tell is the location of the flare, relative to what's causing it. They should be opposite each other from the center of the image.

From what I understand, the "Green Flash" that people talk about is the tip of the sun itself turning green at the very last moment before it disappears into the horizon. Clearly, in this image, the sun is well above the horizon.
