bored really. im using canon a610. i'd like to get better so i guess any advice would be good advice.

Ok, technically speaking, the image is exposed alright.

There does seem to be a little to much noise in the image.

I'm not sure what you were going for here though.
Most photographers when they take a picture, are trying to convey a message.

For example, a sunet. We pick a focal point, and use it to showcase the beauty of nature.
For portraits, we use geometery and lighting to make the viewers attention drift towards the subject.

For your image, i can't figure out, what you are trying to show. The book, or the cloth? There is nothing in the image that peeks my interest.

I'm sorry, i'm not trying to sound harsh, i hope that you take this as advice to better improve your technique.

I will say that, i do like the colors of the image, and the lighting. The book itself gives the image and old feel to it, as the binding of the book looks old. The colors in the image also help achieve this effect.

Keep on shooting, and you'll always continue to improve
