This is actually 3 pictures in one. It looks sort of bland, but that's what it looked like in the sky. It was the first full rainbow that I've ever seen. What do you think? How could it be improved?

I like the idea and the framing, but this one's rather underexposed. Try adjusting the levels such that there's a greater dynamic range (in Photoshop: image/adjustments/levels. You want to bring the sliders at either end of the histogram so that they just touch the ends of the curve) This will give a big improvement to the colour on this shot, as you'll see in the histogram, a small proportion of the dynamic range is being used.

Hope you don't mind, but here's a quick levels edit and slight (+10) saturation boost in PS.

The only other thing I might suggest is running it through a noise reduction program such as NeatImage, as it is quite noisy at the moment.

Definitely a keeper this shot.

Best,

-Ben

Good job OB...You brought out a piece of #2 rainbow up on the left corner...
Like lightning bolts, rainbows are hard to capture with all the colors...Not that
lightning bolts are colorful....You know what I mean....
Nizi....Good full arc...your right about not seeing one very often...

Oooo, yeah, I think I could definately benefit from the noise reduction. I used my old Canon A60 for this shot. The ones I took with my D50 were too late and half the rainbow was gone
