Direct mid day sun is not a good time to shoot people though you handled the exposure pretty good. It's always nice to see both hands and both feet of toddlers. If you have the opportunity, try shooting this lil guy in the late in the day an hour or two before sunset.

I like the shot. I love taking pics of kids. Try getting down to their eye level so they don't have to look up.

This shot is much better than the previous attempts. The white balance is slightly off and you have too much unnecessary space in the frame. Exposure is pretty good though you have a small area of blown highlights on his hair.

Always be aware of your background elements when shooting portraits. Here, the vertical lines and tone of the fence behind your subject is a bit of a distraction.

Below is a quick crude edit to demonstrate my comments.
