Curses, I wanted to see a bird picture. In fact, I'm tempted to steal your topic now. But that would mean making a postable version of one of my bird pics... and I'm too lazy. Could I convince you to repost in the next 5 minutes before I leave? I'm sure it's not that bad.

I really like the second shot, maybe a tighter crop? I hope you don't mind but i just tightened things up slightly.

Those arn't so bad Logan! I've taken a hand at some bird pictures myself and my avatar is about the only one I like. I saw the most beautiful bluebird but when I shot it, the wings were blurs. I like the bird to the left in your second shot, you got a great pose in that one.

I like the second one. It reminds me of a time-lapse photo.* The only thing I'm noticing (after reading a book containing SLR tips) is the background.* I just read about bokeh, and it looks like your picture contains some of it.* It's more of a lens issue rather than your technique, I believe.* Perhaps you could carefully blur the background to emphasize the foreground.
