If this is an HDR image, I do think that it's overdone.

When you submit your photo to the POTD, you open yourself up to critiques.

Also, I feel like it's a little bit ignorant to think that somebody can post a photo on a photo related forum and not expect it to be subjugated to critiques and opinions... Not to mention that this photo was submitted to a contest, which essentially means you are asking for others to judge it.
