I have been printing CDs using the above printer, with standard tray, with perfect results until this morning, when the CD printed perfectly, but the printer continued printing ink on the tray at the four corners in a square design. I had to wash off the ink on the tray quickly before it dried.
I modified the printer as per this forum, using a standard Canon tray and roller assembly. I use SureThing label printer with a template from someone on the forum for the IP4000 and everything has worked perfectly for some time. I don't know if this was a one time fluke, but before I go printing on my tray again, I thought I would find out if anyone else on this forum has had this happen.:? |

Strange... wondered have you checked the silver type sensors on the tray. I have the ip5000 and also use Surething, Media face four and CD Labeller to make CD's using the import method.
Never had anything like that, but when I forgot to put the tray in properly it printed on a sheet from the bottom paper tray. Are the CD inner and outer demsnsions set correctly..? Whether these idea's will help I dunno but guess you've already tried them. Davy |
