Pictures from a Kodak Z612 digicam print too dark without post processing or enhancing. Even outdoor shots in sunlight do not appear as bright on prints as I would expect.

I print on a Canon Pixma iP3300 using the Easy Photo Print software that came with the printer.

I recently bought a Canon S5IS and did some initial prints and the prints are brighter and more real-world than those from the Z612.

Did test shots of the same scene using both cameras, printed them and found the same results - Z612 prints were too dark.

Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?

I would have thought the answer to be obvious — give the Kodak shots more light.

Wider aperture, longer exposure, whatever.

It's clearly not the printer's fault — it's a slave device and prints what it's told to.
