Here's a thread on dpreview that I'd like your speculation on. http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/re...ssage=10005946

Earlier this year when I still worked for Canon they had a lot of talk about how this year Canon would revolutionize something and the Canon brand would never be thought of the same. They even were talking about changing the trademark Canon red color to something else. I have since moved on and no longer know what is up, but maybe the plans were finalized and we're all in for a big suprise.

With some quick web research, Epson basically invented the first inkjet photo printer in 1994 so maybe that is where the date relevancy is?

Can you drop some hints Steve? Anyone else?

In the Pixma review thread the was some talk about other printers in the flash movie from the Canon promotional material. It got pulled from the review. If the new printers also use the same ink as the existing range they won't be that revolutionary. It's unlikely that the i9950 etc.design would be obsoleted overnight

I read about something in the forum about Canon releasing their first consumer Pigment-Ink printer in the fall. It's supposed to have a wider colour gamut than the R800, and it's geared for glossy photos.
