I am looking for a new A3 printer to replace my Epson 2100. I have had this printer afew month butI can't get a satisfactory colour print from it. B&W are fantastic on Epson Archival Matte papers but I need High gloss printouts and it just isn't suitable. Iamconsideringthe Epson R1800,HP Designjet 30, Canon 9950 or maybe wait for the new Canon 9910 which is on their Japan website.

Quality is important, so is speed but economy is vital. The HP uses 69ml inks against 15ml for the r1800 and they cost just over twice as much in the UK. From whatI have read elswhere you can print about 400 A4 from a set of inks compared with the approx 30 I get from my 2100.I expect R1800 will give the same kind ofink cunsumption as the 2100.

If anyone hasa Designjet 30 could you give me your opinionof its ink consumption, quality of output on glossy paper, speed andB&W output.

I would also like to hear the same about the R1800.

The Canon I know gives superb output but I am a little worried about possible fading.

Many thanks jacom
